500 _aABSTRACT Pengson, Emmanuel T., Torres, Rio E., Cayanan, Erica May B. Department of Computer Studies and Automation - College of Engineering and Computer Studies, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. July 2022. "Web-Based Courseware: Information Assurance and Security Course". Adviser: Melanie A. Crisostomo The capstone project, titled Web-Based Courseware: Information Assurance and Security Course,' was an online educational platform that covered various topics related to information security and information assurance. The courseware included modules and videos to enhance users' understanding, and it also provided a certificate as proof of completion in the field of information assurance and security. The researchers aimed to design and develop a "Web-Based Courseware: Information Assurance and Security Course" that would teach users how to identify potential cybercrimes based on their existing knowledge. The researchers gathered data through questionnaires and internet research, and conducted interviews with an IT consultant and students at PSAU Magalang, Pampanga, to evaluate their experiences with cybercrime and the courseware system. The researchers developed the courseware using JavaScript as the main programming language and MYSQL as the database management system. The researchers conducted purposeful and convenience sampling to evaluate the courseware, with 186 respondents from the 3rd-4th year BSIT students at Pampanga State Agricultural University in Magalang, Pampanga. The respondents agreed that the developed courseware could help them learn about information assurance and information security, with an overall mean score of 3.16. Overall, the web-based courseware provided a comprehensive and flexible approach to teaching students about information assurance and security.
