505 0 _aThe experiment was laid out Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with eight (8) treatments namely; To -Normal seeds (Control); Ti -Normal seeds with Hi-Q VAM 1; Tz -Manual nicking then soak in tap water (26°C) for 18 hours; T3 -Manual nicking then soak in tap water (26°C) for 18 hours with Hi-Q VAM 1; T4 -Hot water (100 °C) for 3 minutes then soak in tap water (26°C) for 18 hours; Ts -Hot water (100°C) for 3 minutes then soak in tap water (26°C) for 18 hours with Hi-Q VAM 1; Te -Sulfuric acid for 10 minutes. then soak in tap water (26°C) for 18 hours; T7 -Sulfuric acid for 10 minutes then soak in tap water (26°C) for 18 hours with Hi-Q VAM1. The treatments were replicated three (3) times. Thirty (30) seeds were used in every treatment. The result revealed that Normal seeds or Control and Normal seeds with Hi-Q Vam 1 were significantly lower in germination percentage and germinative capacity at 1% significant level than other treatments. On the other hand, when it comes to germinative energy, energy period and mortality parameters all treatments were comparable. In terms of initial growth performance, treatments did not affect parameters such as plant height, collar diameter, and number of leaves counted. Thus, in germinating falcata seeds, manual nicking of seeds and soaked in (26°C) tap water for 18 hours and soaking of seeds in sulfuric acid for 10 minutes then soaked in (26°C) tap water for 18 hours with Hi-Q VAM 1 is recommended. This assures higher seed germination.
