505 | 0 | _aThis study employed a descriptive research design and a self-made questionnaire to collect data on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) on food waste management of Magalang public market vendors. The socio-demographic and KAP data of the 99 respondents were statistically analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS to determine the frequencies, percentage, median, mean, Kendall's tau, Cramer's V, Chi-square, and p-value. Findings on sociodemographic profile of the respondents were: vegetable vendors 23 (23.3%); male 60 (61.61%), age 25-44 years old (45.45%); married 61 (61.62%); employee 58 (58.69%); high school graduates 51 (51.52%); and earn 11,000 monthly income 42 (42.42%). Most of the respondents are knowledgeable and have positive attitudes, and poor practices towards food waste management. Results show that there is a significant relationship: 1) between the respondent's occupation in the shop and knowledge of food waste management; 2) between the respondent's store section and practices towards food waste management; and 3) between the respondent's age and knowledge and attitudes towards food waste management. To address the poor practices towards food waste, the following are hereby recommended: 1. Creation of policy on sustainable management and segregation of food waste; 2. Infrastructure development anchored to sustainable management of food waste; 3. Dissemination of information about food waste management, and 4 Forging linkages between the Municipality of Magalang, other government agencies, and public or private groups that support sustainable food waste management.
