505 0 _aThe study was conducted in the Rooting Area of Smart Bamboo Nursery, Pampanga State Agricultural University. It aimed to design, install and evaluate an automated misting system with real - time temperature display using Arduino. It was performed using branch cuttings of Bamboo. There were three (3) treatments at located on rooting chambers which were replicated three (3) times - T1 (41°C), T2 (38°C) and T3 or control with a temperature range of (35°C - 38°C). T1 and T2 had temperatures set as their maximum to run the misting nozzles. The experimental rooting chamber used was 7.8 square meter. Temperature sensor was used to monitor the moisture content of the media. Temperature was monitored and changes every two minutes.Simultaneously, scanning for the maximum temperature inside the rooting chamber. Misting nozzles were used to lower the temperature inside. The system was controlled using an Arduino. Number of leaves/shoots were counted in the end of the study period. Based on the result of the number of leaves/shoots on the branch cuttings, T2 (38°C) attained 24.33, the highest mean number of leaves/shoots that developed, as compared to T3 (35°C - 38°C) with a mean number of leaves/shoots of 23.67 and T1 (41°C) with a mean number of leaves/shoots of 15. Least Significant Difference test revealed that T3 (35°C - 38°C) had significant increase in terms of number of leaves, while T2 (38°C) was significantly higher in number of leaves that developed as compared to T1 (41°C) In terms of uniformity of discharge, efficiency of the individual misting nozzles varied. R1 (88.73%), R2 (91.13%) and R3 (79.13%) this was due to clogging on the nozzies that needed to be cleaned. The initial investment cost of the automated misting system was Php. 4,055 and operation cost amounting to Php. 29.75 per year.
