505 0 _aThe result of poor solid waste management is extremely hazardous to the environment and human heaith. Solid wastes, if not disposed of properly can cause serious environmental effects such as flood, ground and water contamination, air pollution, toxic exposure, and the spread of various diseases. Hence, there is a need for immediate action to address the situation before it worsens. In today's world, technology has provided remarkable tools such as mobile applications to help people live more conveniently and easily. Mobile solutions and applications are now viewed as significant tools for policymakers and stakeholders because these technologies can be incorporated into the fight for environmental conservation and waste minimization. This approach can also be used to monitor solid waste management and improve the way how it is typically done. The study focuses on the level of effectiveness of the Solid Waste Management System and the development of a Mobile-based Monitoring System for Solid Waste Management in the Municipality of Bamban. The descriptivedevelopmental research design was used by the researcher to gather, interpret and analyze the information that was used to develop the solid waste management mobile application. The researcher used instruments such as data collection, informal interviews, internet research, survey questionnaires, and various technologies in order to generate the output of the study. The findings of the study revealed that the Solid Waste Management in Bamban calls for improvement because the level of effectiveness of its solid waste management system in terms of waste segregation, collection, and disposal is only Moderately Effective, necessitating an immediate demand for the municipality to take action before it gets worse. Hence, there is an extremely urgent need to develop a solid waste management mobile application that will aid in the enhancement of the solid waste management system in Bamban. With that in mind, the researcher used the results of the study and employed Agile Development Methodology along with various technologies like Android Studio, JavaScript, Visual Studio Code, SQLite, and Google Firebase to develop a mobile application called BWMS: a Monitoring System for Solid Waste Management.
