505	0		_aThis study aimed to find out the performance of the respondents in using idiomatic phrasal verbs and identifying their semantic meanings. The respondents were 54 senior students major in English who were grouped into two. Specifically, it sought to describe the respondents' profile in terms of their course; describe the performance of the respondents in using idiomatic phrasal verbs and in identifying their semantic meanings; and determine if there is a significant difference between the two groups in using idiomatic phrasal verbs and in identifying their semantic meanings. Through a written examination, the respondents were asked to choose the correct idiomatic phrasal verbs for each sentence; match the phrasal verb with its meaning and identify its semantic meaning boldfaced in each sentence. The data were analyzed in relation to the respondents' course and performance through the use of frequency count and percentage, mean and T-Test. The results of the study revealed that the respondents had poor performance in using idiomatic phrasal verbs but a good performance in identifying the semantic meanings of idiomatic phrasal verbs; there is no significant difference between their performance in using idiomatic phrasal verbs; and there is no significant difference between their performance in identifying the semantic meanings of idiomatic phrasal verbs. Reflecting the respondents' performance, it is recommended that students improve their vocabulary through reading and add idiomatic phrasal verbs to their writing and speaking:
