This study aimed to isolate canine parvovirus specific IgY from immunized white leghorn chicken eggs. Two chickens were immunized with a commercial canine parvovirus vaccine for five weeks at weekly interval. Sera from immunized chickens were collected to confirm the immune response to the vaccine. Presence of antibody against canine parvovirus was checked using indirect adsorption Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The tires of sera collected from the two hens five weeks after immunization were found to have 3.45 and 3.33 absorbance units (Au), respectively. Eggs from immunized chickens were also collected after the immunization period. Egg yolks were separated and processed for IgY isolation using the optimized protocol (sodium chloride method). A total of 450 mg of purified IgY was isolated from four immunized eggs. Immunoreactivity of the isolated IgY was tested using indirect adsorption ELISA. The ELISA titer of the isolated canineparvovirus-specific IgY was found to have 2.91 Au, suggesting that the isolated IgY were specific for canine parvovirus.
