This study aimed to assess the Level of Awareness on the Prohibitions and Penalties of R.A 8550 in Selected Municipalities of Pampanga. Specifically, determine the sociodemographic profile of the respondents, determine how the respondents were informed about the Prohibitions and Penalties, and to determine the level of awareness of the respondents and status of implementation of Prohibitions and Penalties of RA 8550. The respondent of this quantitative study were the fishermen from the selected municipalities in Pampanga, specifically, Macabebe, Masantol and Minalin. The participants were identified with the help of the Municipal Agriculture Office, while the Prohibitions and Penalties are from R.A 8550 or "The Philippines Fisheries Code of 1998". The results showed that majority of the respondents are male. Most of the respondents were from ages 45-55 years old, thus, in terms of educational attainment, most of the respondents of this study were High School graduates. Moreover, the result also showed that the respondents were engaged in fishing for about 14-22 years. However, most of the participants were married and when it comes to the source of information, the result showed, respondents acquired information through barangay meetings. Based on the data gathered, the respondents were very much aware on the Prohibitions and Penalties of R.A 8550 and are strictly implemented in each municipality.
