June 2023, "RISK ASSESS MENT OF INFORMAL SETTLERS IN BARANGAY MALABANIAS NEAR ABACAN RIVER, ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA" Adviser: Engr. Genesis A. Along 33 barangays of Angeles City, the Barangay Malabanias has a concentrated number of informal settlers near the Abacan River which makes them vulnerable to different risks. This study sought to assess the risks and the impacts associated with the informal settlers living near the Abacan River in Barangay Malabanias. To provide the appropriate action in mitigating the risk being experienced. The research used survey questionnaires as instruments in collecting the needed data from the officers of Barangay Malabanias and nurses of the Rural Health Unit in Barangay Malabanias. The results show that various risks such as flood, land pollution, respiratory infections, malnutrition, and measles were among the risks that are expected to occur at least once in ten years. Whereas, rain-induced landslide, earthquakes, human-induced fires, water pollution, diarrhea, and dengue were the risk that it is unlikely to occur but yet possible to experience. In the impact assessment, among the hazards, the flood has the utmost impact on the informal settlers.
