AGILLON This study generally aimed to analyze _ the politeness strategies of the male and female respondents and to find out their relationship to their age _ range. Specifically, it sought to describe the profile of the respondents in terms of sex and age; to determine the types of politeness strategies of the male and female respondents; t find out if there is a significant difference between the level of politeness strategies of males and females; and if there is a significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and the level of their politeness strategies. Using random sampling method, the researcher then came up with 40 persons of different ages as the respondents of the study. They were given a three-part questionnaire to gather information on their profile in terms of age and sex and to elicit responses and their thoughts on the given different situations. The data were analyzed using frequency and percentage distribution, Pearson r, chi-square, and Ttest for independent samples. The study revealed that there is no_ significant difference between the level of the politeness strategies of the males and the females; there is no_ significant relationship between the sex of the respondents and the level of their politeness strategies; there is, however, a highly significant relationship between the age of the respondents and the level of their politeness strategies.
