This study was conducted at Pio, Porac, Pampanga, from May 2022 to June 2022. The purpose of this study was to see how different scarification methods affect the growth performance of maramais. The availability of improved forage for pasture development, as measured by germination and growth rate, is the primary concern for increasing livestock productivity. Statistical analysis was done using Complete Randomized Design (CRD) and Least Significant Difference (LSD) by multiple comparisons to determine the significant difference among treatments in the evaluation of the maramais. A total of 320 seeds were allotted to four treatments; Treatment 1 water, Treatment 2 hot water, Treatment 3 1 ml of nitric acid was diluted by 1 liter of water, and Treatment 4 sulfuric acid was diluted by water on 1 gram of sulfuric acid andlliter of water. The following parameters were recorded: Germination rate, plant length, number of leaves, and length of leaves. Nitric acid showed significant (p<0.05) effects on the plant length of maramais compared to the other treatments. The results suggest that the use of nitric acid in germinating and growing maramais could contribute.
