ABSTRACT TAYAG, PRINCESS ANN Mt, December, 2022. *Efect of DIferent Levels of Carrageenan PGP on the Vield of Seleeted Soybean Varieties," Muster of Sclenee in Agriculture, major in Agronomy. Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. Adviser: MARY GRACE B, GATAN, Ph. D. Soybean is one of the essential leguminous crops in the Philippines and is mainly utilized for food and feed produetion. However, the local production of soybean has been insutticient to cater to the demand for the crop. Thus, the Philippines still relies on imports from other countries, With this, the study aimed to determine the effect of the diferent levels of Carrageenan PGP on the yield when applied to selected soybean varieties. Specifically, it aimed to evaluate the adaptability of soybean genotypes to the thequency of Carrageenan PGP application, This study was conducted in Barangay La Paz, Magalang, Panmpanga. The study utilized four treatments, namely: Ti (Negative control); T2 (I00 ppm PGP); T (150 ppm PGP); T. (Farmer's Practice). Two varieties of soybean were considered as sub-treatment; Vi - PSB SY 2 and V: - CL Soy 1.The experiments were laid out using a Two-factor factorial adopting the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications, Data were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance, and differences were determined using the Least Significant Difference (LSD). Application of Carrageenan PGP at 150 ppm to soybean significantly gave a positive effect on the following parameters: tallest plant height at maturity with a mean of 73.96 cm; produced the highest number of pods per plant of 72.08; provided the highest number of seeds per pod of 2.39; attained 15.13g and recorded as the heaviest weight of 100 seeds, obtained the highest yield of 1.78 to 2.02 mtha. Meanwhile, the highest shelling percentage was gained from both treated plants with PGP at a rate of 100 and 150 ppm ranging from 56.66 to 58.91, respectively. In addition, Carrageenan PGP at 150 ppm provided a net income of Php 28,450.00- 35,650.00/ha, with an ROl of l14.03%-142.89% regardless of the variety and an added benefit of 5.39-7.06 was obtaincd. However, there was no interaction among the types across all parameters.
