Title : Cytotoxicity and Antibacterial Properties of the Ethanolic Extract of Bago (Gnetum gnemon) using Brine shrimp Lethality Assay Researcher : LALAINE REGALA MONTERO School : Pampanga State Agricultural University Degree : Bachelor of Science in Biology Date Completed : April 2019 Adviser : JANET D. HIDALGO, M.A.Ed. This study entitled Cytotoxicity and Antibacterial properties of the Ethanolic Leaf Extract of Bago (Gnetum gnemon) using Brineshrimp Lethality Assay), conducted from December 2018 to January 2019 at the Chemistry Laboratory of Pampanga State Agricultural University, PAC, Magalang, Pampanga, was undertaken to find out the zone of inhibition, antibacterial properties and the cytotoxic properties of Bago (Gnetum gnemon). Linear regression was used to analysis the lethality concentration. Based from the study conducted, the following results were drawn: Bago (Gnetum gnemon) extract had an active and partially active result; Bago (Gnetum gnemon) extract was less effective than Tetracycline in S. aureus; Bago (Gnetum gnemon) extract was more effective than Tetracycline in E. coli; Bago (Gnetum gnemon) extract has cytotoxicity property and LCso was attained.
