ABSTRACT INOCENCIO, JAYSON T, July 2022. VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION OF BIGNAI (Antidesma bunius (Linn) Spreng) AS AFFECTED BY ROOTING IORMONE AND DIFFERENT ROOTING MEDIA. Bachelor of Science in Forcstry major in Forest Resource Management. Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. Adviser: ROY JOVEN R. AMATUS The effects of rooting hormone and different rooting media on the vegetative propagation of Bignai (Antidesma bunius) using stem cuttings was the aim of this study, specifically in terms of bud break, number of leaves, length of shoots, survival, number of roots, and the length of roots for a period of 90 days; and was laid out using Randomized Complete Block Design. The two factors used in this experiment were two rooting hormone treatments, and four different rooting media. A total of & treatment combinations were used in this experiment which were laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) layout. The result of this study shows the potential of water as alternative rooting media for the propagation of Bignai stem cuttings. Based on the obtained results, the stem cuttings treated planted in water showed a significantly higher average in number of leaves, length of shoots, and survival percentage, with an average of 2.81 and 39.89 mm, and 4.44% accordingly. Due to the outcome of the result, water can be considered as an alternative rooting media for bignai cuttings.
