ABSTRACT TITLE MARKETING ANALYSIS OF SOUR AUTIHOR ADVISER SCHOOL TAMARIND IN ARAYAT, PAMPANGA NAOMI ANNK, DIZON ABNER C. QUIAMBAO, MPS PAMPANGA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVEIRSITY DEGREE BACHELOR OF SCIENCEIN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS YEAR COMPLETED JUNE 2023 The study intended to analyze the marketing of sour tamarind in the Municipalíty of Arnyat, Pampanga, particularly in Barangay Baliti and Barangay San Juan Baño. A total of 30 respondents were identified in the study, Farmers/producers, traders, and retailers comprised the 30 respondents of the study that were interviewed. The researcher used total enumeration sampling in getting the total number of respondents and used the cost and return analysis for data analysis, The mnajority of the respondents are between the ages of 41 to 50 years of age. The majority of them were male, marricd, and the highest cducational attainment was clementary level, In terms of houschold size, 18 or 60% had six to 10 family members. The estimated monthly income of the respondents is ranging from zero to 5000 pesos which got the highest response of 16 or 53.34%. In terms of market structure, most of them, in terms of buying method used pick- up with a frequency of 18 or 60%, As to the mode of payments, all farmers said cash; for the traders, 10 or 83.33% of them used cash; while for the retailers, all of them use cash. For market conduct, in terms of the method used for transferring goods, most of the respondents preferred that their goods are delivered with 63.34%. The mode of transportation, most of the farmers had the tricycles, 55,56% and the transportation used by the traders is tricycle with 91.67%, Meanwhile, all the retailers use a tricycle. In market performance, the efficiency indicators show 20% of marketing cost in Arayat, Pampangu, In terms of distance to the market, most of the farmers and traders said that both 4 kilometers and below are their distribution distance to the market. As for the cost and retun analysis in cultivating sour tamarind, farmers had the highest Total Sales of P91, 500 in a whole month of harvest. The expenses include the cost of gasoline, labor, insecticide etc., with a total cost of P1, 581.11. The farmers earned a net profit of PHP 89, 918.89 and get a ROl of 5, 687.07%. This means that every peso invested in cultivating sOur tamarind has P56 and 87 centavos in return. In terms of BEP, farmers get 105.41 kg and CPU of P0,26/kgs. It implies that in marketing sour tamarind, they gain profit.
