A farm practice in swine production was conducted at Wonderful Farm located at Sitio Kawili-wili, Cutcut 2nd Capas, Tarlac from April 23 to June 5, 2018. The training was able to give the trainee the needed experience in the different management practices in swine production. It also gave the trainee the opportunity to apply the knowledge learned from the school. Throughout the duration of the farm practice, the student trainee gained knowledge and skills regarding some of the swine management practices in relation to breeding, assistance in farrowing, feeding, health practices among others. The trainee performed tail docking, cutting the needle teeth, castration, ear notching and injecting the piglets were done in the farrowing section. Likewise, the trainee performed cleaning, feeding and injecting the piglets in the nursery section. Cleaning and feeding the animals was mostly done in the grower section of the farm. Also, proper administration of vitamins, antibiotics and other medications/drugs were used.
