ABSTRACT David, James Malchiel B., Dayrit, Jan Alexis. Department of Computer Studies and Automation - Colege of Engineering and Computer Studies, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. June 2023. "WEB-BASED HEART RATE AND TEMPERATURE MONITORING DEVICE BUILT FOR SHIRTS". Adviser: Ms. Romana B. Pare This study entitled "Web-Based Heart Rate and Temperature Monitoring Device Built for Shirts" aims to help people by monitoring their heart rate and temperature by creating a device that records and transmits heart rate and temperature data to a database. This will enable remote heart rate and temperature monitoring. This device is called MaXis and it produces a sound that will alert the user when the data reading is not normal. The website also provides suggestions regarding the user's heart rate and temperature. One of the benefits of this device is its ability to read and display data continuously. In developing this system, the researchers utilized agile methodology. There are three groups of respondents: IT experts, BSIT students, and medical personnel, The IT experts are composed of five respondents, similar to the BSIT students who are the actors of the study. Data were also gathered from three medical personnel. Interview, survey, and questionnaire are the used research instrument. The locale of this study is the DCSA, specifically, first year BSIT students. Upon the completion of data gathering, the researchers concluded that the stated objectives are met. The researchers drew the conclusion that the MaXis website is comprehensible, operable, perceivable, and sturdy based on the results received from the IT specialists, with an overall mean score of 3.93. The users' feedback, which had an overall mean score of 3.89, led the researchers to draw the conclusion that the gadget had attained functioning and accomplished its goals. Regarding medical staf, the total mean is 3.83, supporting the users' response of Strongly Agree. After the development, the researchers concluded that the device can be used for remote heart rate and temperature monitoring. All the data is transmitted to the database and the user may view the previous data. Based on the users and medical personnel, the sensors are accurate but the MLX thermometer is more sensitive to temperature changes compared to other infrared thermometers, This does not mean that the sensor should not be used. The sensor does not follow the standard nom for temperature. Overall, the device garnered positive response from the respondents.
