ABSTRACT CELINED, CORTEZ, CLARISSE ANN V, LOPEZ ANID MARK LOWEL 0CAMPO, August 2022, LAYING PERFORMANCE OF TWO STRAINS OF QUAIL TREATED WITH VARYING LEVELS OF PURSLANE (Portulaca eleracea) EXTRACT SUPPLEMENTED IN DRINKING WATER. Baehelor of Scienee in Agriculture major in Animal Science. Pampanga State Agricultural University, PAC, Magalang, Pampanga. Advisers JELLA NMAE C. TOLENTINO, B.S.A This stuy was conducted to determine the effect of Purslane Extract on the laying performance of Japanese Seattle Quail and Japanese Taiwan Quail supplemented into their drinking water. One hundred seventeen (17) Japanese Seattle Quail and one hundred seventeen (117) Japanese Taiwan were subjected to a two factorial experiment and were distributed into six (6) treatments (A1B1-Japanese Seattle Quail-control; A1B2- Japanese Seattle Quail Sml Purslane Extractiter water; AIB3Japanese Seattle Quail- 10ml Purslane Extract/iter water; A2B)- Japanese Taiwan Quail-control; A2B2- Japanese Taiwan Quail- Sml Purslane Extract/liter water; A2B3-Japanese Taiwan Quail- 10ml Purslane Extract/iter water) following a complete randomized design (CRD). Each treatment was replicated thrice with thirteen (13) quails per replication. The study fìndìngs showed that the laying performance was significantly impacted by the addition of 10% purslane extract to the Japanese Seattle Quail (A1B3) in terms of eRg production, egg weight, feed conversion ratio, water consumption, and shell thickness. However, the different levels of purslane added to their drinking water had no significant effect on the laying perfomance of quail. In all the treatments given to the quail, the Japanese Seatle quail added to 1Oml purslane extract in their drinking water outperformed.
