This study attempted to determine the antibacterial potential of anuran skin secretion collected from the riparian zones of Mt. Arayat. The anuran species collected were Hylarana erythraea from family Ranidae, Hoplobatrachus rugulosus and Limonectes macrochepalus from family Dicroglossidae. Skin secretions of the collected Anurans were inactive against Escherichia coli and Staphylcoccus aureus. The measured zone of inhibition was less than 10 mm hence, it has no antibacterial potential. However, a fungal growth has intervened around the treatment wells where the Anuran skin secretions were applied. Anurans are vulverable in potentially harmful bacteria and fungi, associated in their warm and moist habitat. Further study on the said fungal growth is highly recommended.
