The study was carried out to determine the reproductive and litter performance of upgraded New Zealand White rabbit bred at pre-weaning. Eight apparently healthy, nulliparous upgraded New Zealand White does were equally and randomly divided into two groups. Group A were mated seven days after weaning whereas Group B were mated seven days before weaning. Data obtained were body condition score and weight of does at mating, kindling and weaning; litter size and weight; and mortality and morbidity rate at days 7 and 35 (weaning). Data were analyzed using independent samples t test. The results revealed that body weight of does in Group A at kindling and weaning (2.51 and 2.55, respectively) were significantly higher (P<0.05) than in Group B (2.31 and 2.33, respectively). Gestation length (in days) was also significantly shorter (P<0.05) in Group A (32.25) as compared to Group B (33.33) while other data were statistically comparable (P>0.05). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that pre-weaning mating and the standard post-weaning breeding can result to comparable reproductive and litter performance which can increase productivity of the farm.
