Department of Computer Studies and Automation, College of Resource Engineering, Automation and Mechanization, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga, April 2019. "lIOT-BASED REAL-TIME FIRE ALARM SYSTEM WITH SMS NOTIFICATION. Adviser: Jackilyn B. Baccay The study entitled 1}OT-Based Real-Time Fire Alarm System with SMS Notification was design and develop to provide an early warning system for the locale when fire and smoke was detected. The objective of the study was to create a system that will alarm the personne! and fire department immediately when sudden fire incident has occurred; provide the user with a real-time monitoring of temperature, smoke, and fire through mobile application and LCD display; and view the actual scenario inside DCSA office when any of the parameters have triggered. The methodology used by the researchers was the Rapid Application Development, designed to be flexible to changes and to determine the design and flow of the system, different diagrams were also used such as Block Diagram, Network Diagram, System Flowchart, Schematic Diagram, Use Case Diagram, Context Diagram and Data Flow Diagram. The primary data collected in presented questionnaires were interpreted by the used of statistical procedure. Throughout the development of the system, the researchers used WeMos D1 Mini, Arduino Nano and Uno as a microcontroller. Codes were built through Arduino Software IDE using C++ Programming Language. The researchers also used Android Studio using Java Programming Language for the development of the application. The researchers adopted the descriptive method in gathering all the information needed for the development of the study. Through testing the approval of capabilities and functions of the system to the users, the researchers collected a good result in the survey conducted with their respondents. They gathered a grand mean of 3.45 with the Fire Department staffs and DCSA faculty members which means that the respondents agreed that the developed system will be a great of help to prevent fire occurrence immediately. we Ss.
