ABSTRACT Angelica M. Baluyut, Mark Chester P. Araneta and Erica Jhoy L. Villanueva Department of Computer Studies and Automation - College of Engineering and Computer Studies, Panpanga State Agricultural University, Magalang. STORYTELLING APPLICATION USING AUGMENTED REALITY". Pampanga. July 2023. "INTERACTIVE FILIPINO Adviser: Prof. Rodel Pentecostes Storytelling application is one of the innovative technologies that teachers can use to introduce a new way of reading stories to children. Storytelling application A utilizes augmented reality to províde a story. This application utilizes an Android phone to allow users to see a story with moving characters. When users point the camera of their Android phone at the book entitled 'Piknik,' the application displays moving images or characters from the storybook. The application also includes narration, where the book is narrated by the application. This study uses a descriptive research design. The participants of this study are the teachers of grades 1, 2, and 3 students of Cabalantian Elementary School. The study aims to describe the use of interactive Filipino storytelling through augmented reality. Questionnaires served as the primary instrument for collecting data from the participants in this study. The researchers developed these questionnaires by considering the current curriculum being implemented in the school. To ensure their reliability and validity, the questionnaires underwent testing and validation. Additionally, as part of the process, a 3D story application accompanied by narration was presented to the students, aiming to facilitate their comprehension of the study. The survey was conducted directly by the researchers themselves. After distributing the questionnaires, the researchers were present during the Survey to collect the data. Their presence allowed them to address any queries or concerns raised by the respondents and provide immediate responses or clarifications as needed. To demonstrate the user-friendliness of the storytelling application in the study locale, the researchers studied and analyzed the collected data to develop the storytelling application. The post-survey for teachers resulted in a 90% yes score, indicating high satisfaction with the application among the respondents. The researchers have concluded that the newly developed application is useful and convenient for both students and teachers who participated in the study. The researcher used grouped random samplíng to evaluate the application. Twenty-two (22) teachers from grades 1, 2, and 3 at Cabalantian Elementary School were surveyed, and on average, they gave a rating of 3.98. The respondents strongly agreed that the developed application can help them during their storytelling time at school.
