Department of Computer Studies and Automation - College of Engineering and Computer Studies, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga, July 2023. "ANDROID APPLICATION FOR RECOGNITION OF AGLAONEMA PLANTS". Adviser: Engr. Maribel T. Bravo The study entitled "Android Application for Recognition of Aglaonema Plants" aimed to develop an application that is easy to use and simple to understand. However, many plant parents lack the expertise to accurately identify plants and provide proper care. This study aims to develop a plant recognition app using image processing techniques, filling the gap by offering comprehensive plant care information. By providing accurate plant identification and insights into proper care, the application aims to assist novice gardeners and promote healthy plant growth. The objective of this study is to create an application that can display different information about the plants such as: to display its scientific name; to display its proper plant care such as proper sunlight exposure, soil requirements, and water need; and, to display different information on how to properly propagate the plants. The researchers employed various techniques including observation, information retrieval through journal, sites, interviews, and surveys to gather the necessary data. Statistical treatment, specifically the sample mean, was used to interpret the primary data obtained from the questionnaires. The study employed an agile research methodology, selected for its suitability in meeting the project's current research requirements and facilitating structured development stages. The researchers employed software tools like Android Studio, JAVA, TensorFlow Lite, XML, and Teachable Machine for design and development. Canva was used to create the system's logo. Structured tools such as use case diagrams, block diagrams, data flow diagrams, and system flowcharts were utilized to analyze and comprehend the system's flow. The researchers successfully achieved the objective of providing easy and specific access to information about Aglaonema plant varieties such as Pink Moon, Chinese Evergreen, and Red Siam Aglaonema. Based on interviews, functionality evaluation, and survey results, the study received a high rating with a grand mean of 3.52, indicating strong agreement among respondents that the system effectively met its objectives ER -
