PAMPANGA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY : DEGREE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS YEAR COMPLETED JUNE 2020 The study was conducted to analyze the farm gate price variability and its effects on layer farms revenues and profits in Minalin, Pampanga. This was conducted in order to determine the factors that may change the farm gate price of eggs in Minalin, Pampanga. As for the results, the majority of the respondents were within the age bracket of 41 to 50 years old. Majority were males, married, and high school graduates. In terms of household size, 12 (75%) have four to six members in their family. The estimated annual income of the respondents ranged from 200,001 - 300,000 pesos (5 or 31.25%). Majority of the respondents produced up to 21 to 40 cases per day with a frequency of 4 (25%). With regards to the total number of heads, 15,001 to 30,000 heads have the most frequency with five (31.25%). In terms of eggs produced by one hen per day, all of the respondents said that only one egg is produced per one hen. On the average laying efficiency of hens per day, seven (43.75%) had 81% to 85% laying eficiency rate. Majority (10 or 62.5%) of the respondents had a five to eight head mortality rate per day. On sacks of feed used per day, 41 to 60 sacks had the highest frequency with six or 37.50%. In price variability, the farm gate price in Minalin, Pampanga was given by the Minalin United Poultry Raisers Cooperative (MUPRA). Other factors include disasters and typhoons, red tide, and the cost of feeds. For the cost and return analysis of the layer farms for the year 2019, the owners recorded P45,081,111.90 in total sales and P24,024,375 total cost. The layer farms earned a net profit of P18,95 1,063.20. In terms of the return of investment, the owners got an ROI of 78.889%. As to the break-even point, the owner got 12,049.84 cases. For the cost per unit, the owners had a CPU of P1,009.37 per case. This implies that layer farms in Minalin, Pampanga earned profits. The major problems encountered by the farms are climate change and the disease outbreaks, with 16 responses each from the respondents. High cost of feeds had 10 responses and water related problems had seven responses. As for the possible solutions, close monitoring and quick isolating of the hens, looking for alternative feeds, and always checking of the water condition emerged as top responses of the layer farm owners ER -
