ABSTRACT Mariano, Andrews C. July 2022. Wood Vinegar as Organic Fertilizer to Ampalaya. Bacheler ef Science in Agriculture. Major in Crop Science. Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. Adviser: NORMAN G. DE JESUS, Ph. D. The study was conducted at the Crop Science Field Laboratory, College of Agriculture Systems and Technology, Pampanga State Agricultural University from April to July 2022 to distinguish the effect of wood vinegar as organic fertilizer to ampalaya. The study was laid out using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatment used were T1- Control, T2- 1 L wood vinegar to 50 L water, T3- 1 L wood vinegar to 80 L water, and T4- 1 L wood vinegar to 110 Lwater. Based on the results of statistical analysis, using wood vinegar as organic fertilizer to ampalaya has significant effect on days to flowering, weight of marketable and non- marketable fruit and number of marketable fruits. On the other hand, there was no significant effect on plant height, number of non-marketable fruits, diameter of fruits, length of fruits, and computed yicld. In conclusion, wood vinegar as organic fertilizer for ampalaya can lessen the days to flowering period, increase the weight of fruits as well as the number of marketable fuits. For recommendation, further studies should be conducted on the application of wood vinegar as organic fertilizer to other varieties of ampalaya to come up with more conclusive results.
