TI - Economic Analysis Of Corn Production In Magalang, Pampanga PY - 2022/// CY - Magalang, Pampanga PB - Pampanga State Agricultural University N1 - The study was conducted to analyze the economic status of corn production in Magalang, Pampanga. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the socio-demographic profile of the respondents, management and production practices, the profitability of corn farming using cost and return analysis, problems encountered by the respondents, and the recommended solution to the problems encountered. The primary data were gathered through a survey. The respondents were interviewed personally using a structured questionnaire. The secondary data were collected from the Municipality of Magalang, Pampanga, available reading materials from the internet, books, journals, and libraries. The researcher used the Purposive sampling method to get a minimum of 30 respondents. They must own the same farm size that can be applied to 27 barangays in Magalang, Pampanga. The researcher has chosen 33 registered corn farmers with one (1) hectare of farm area. The respondents were at an average age of 60 years old. The majority of them were maleelementary level graduates with 8,787.87 Php average monthly income. The respondents are using four-wheeled tractors for the land preparation and planting of seeds with a frequency of thirty-three (33) or 100%. The majority of them use the Nk6414 varieties of seeds. In the cost of corn production by the farmers, the highest is fertilizer which got 35,557.57 on average. The lowest is spraying which got 121.00 on average. The total average cost of production of the farmers is 89,525.82 Php and got an average total gross income of 127,423.03 Php. The respondents earned a net income of 37,897.21 and an ROI of 47.87%. In terms of problems encountered by the farmers, the top 1 problem encountered is climate change. Despite the willingness of the respondents to have good and high-quality produce corn, they lack financial assistance causing therh to loan from the bank.
