TI - Use of Digital Stories in Mother Tongue PY - 2020/// CY - Magalang, Pampanga PB - Pampanga State Agricultural University N1 - Elementary pupils are visual learners. They learn more if they see what is being taught to them. Hence, it is a must that a teacher provides an instructional material which caters to the needs of each pupil. This is the primary reason for the conduct of this study which particularly aims to develop digital stories in mother tongue as an instructional material for grade 2 learners under the MTB-MLE Curriculum. The quasi-experimental research method was used participants included 55 pupils, 27 pupils in non-digital group and 28 pupils in digital group. The validators consisted of an expert in Kapampangan language, a focal person in MTB-MLE, a District MTB-MLR Coordinator, and Information Technology (IT) experts. LRMDS evaluation form was used to validate the instructional materials. The findings revealed that the developed digital stories are appropriate to the learners in terms of their content quality, instructional quality, technical quality, and that they are free from conceptual errors, factual errors, grammatical and typographical errors. The use of digital stories is an effective learning tool in developing pupils' viewing skills and listening skills, as it improves their reading comprehension skills. Since the results revealed a positive impact to pupils, the DepEd Division of Pampanga, through the initiative of the Information Technology Officer of the Division of Pampanga and district ICT coordinators should develop digital stories which teachers can employ as a method to address the gaps in all learning areas ER -
