Applied With Different Rates of Irradiated Carrageenan Under Greenhouse Condition PY - 2017/// CY - Magalang, Pampanga PB - Pampanga State Agricultural University N1 - Performance of selected varieties of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) applied with different rates of irradiated carragenan under greenhouse condition was investigated from August to December 2016 at PSAU-ALIAS Center. Marimax, Diamante Max and Red Lantern varieties of tomato were used and different rates of irrdiated carrageenan were sprayed four times at 15 days interval after transplanting. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Data gathered were consolidated, tabulated and statistically analyzed using the Analysis of Variance of Two-Factorial in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Least Significant Difference (LSD) was used in testing the significance of mean differences among treatments. Data revealed no significant differences among the three varieties in terms of plant height and number of days to flower. Red Lantern produced fruits that were significantly the largest in both equatorial and polar diameters and obtained significantly the heaviest fruit compared to Diamante and Marimax. A significant interaction effect revealed among rates of irradiated carrageenan for Diamante Max and Marimax. Diamante Max at 150 ppm and 200 ppm significantly produced more than the plant applied with 100 ppm rate, the control and those given inorganic fertilizer. As regards Marimax, no consistent effect of irradiated carrageenan was observed. Among the three varieties tested Diamante Max applied with 200 ppm rate of irradiated carrageenan produced better result in terms of yield with a net income of Php412,961.00 per hectare and Return on Investment (ROI) of 207.50% ER -
