Growth, Yield Performance and Profitability of Selected Varieties of Hot Pepper (Capsicum spp.) [manuscript] / Annabelle A. Sahagun. - Magalang, Pampanga : Pampanga State Agricultural Universty, 2014. - xiv; 59 leaves ; 28 cm.

The study was conducted from October 2013 to March 2014 at experimental area of the Crop Science Department, Institute of agriculture Systems and Technology, Pampanga Agricultural College, Magalang, Pampanga. The experiment was set-up in the field using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The varieties used in the study are as follows: Tl - (Red hot F1), T2 - (Taiwan Express), T3 - (Django F1), and T4 - (Hot Express). Based on the results of the study, it shows that all the parameters have significant differences and these are as follows: plant height at first harvest; number of fruits per plant; length and diameter of fruits; fruit yield per plant; yield per sample area; number of marketable and non-marketable fruits; and computed yield per hectare. Taiwan express had tallest plants, hot express produced the most number of fruits per plant, hot express and Django F1 had bigger and heavier marketable fruits but with more non-marketable fruits and the highest computed yield per hectare was hot express registering also the highest return on investment of 546%.
