Growth and Yield of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Applied With Different Levels of Calcium Carbide [manuscript] / Judy Ann M. Catacutan. - Magalang, Pampanga : Pampanga State Agricultural University, 2019. - xi; 47 leaves + CD ; 28 cm.

The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Field area of Crop Science, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga from November 2018 to February 2019 to find out the growth and yield of cucumber to different levels of calcium carbide. The study was laid out using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The treatments are as follows: T1 - RR of fertilizer; T2 - l50 kg (ha) of calcium carbide + RR of fertilizer; and T3 - 200 kg (ha) of calcium carbide + RR of fertilizer and T4 - 250 kg (ha) of calcium carbide + RR of fertilizer. Results of the study revealed that the number of vines per plant, number of fruits, diameter and length of fruits, weight of fruits, and number of non-marketable fruits were not significantly influenced by the treatments used. However, significant findings were observed during the flowering days, and number of marketable and computed yield per hectare. The highest return of investment was observed in T2 among other treatments.
