ABSTRACT MANAGEMENT PRACTICES OF TITLE AUTHOR ADVISER SCHOOL SARMIENTO RICE MILL ARYM BALUYUTOCAMPO CELESTE D. GATUS, D.B.A. PAMPANGA STATE AGRICULTURAL : UNIVERSITY DEGREE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS YEAR COMPLETED JUNE 2023 The study was conducted at Sarmiento Rice Mill located at Barangay Telepayong Arayat, Pampanga. The research focuses on management techniques in terms of organization, investments, production, marketing, and finance. This research gives information that may be useful to aspiring future entrepreneurs, particularly those interested in "Rice milling" and "Rice Producing." This will act as a resource for future researchers who wish to do similar studies. Primary data were gathered through series of personal interviews with the firm owner, and firm workers of Sarmiento Rice Mill, who also contributed in gathering the information needed. The data gathered were from areas of (1) Organization, consists of organizational chart, duties and responsibilities, and human resource management; (2) Investment, consist of the investment activities; (3) Production, consists of area and location and cultural management or production flow chart; (4) Marketing, which are the 7C's of marketing; and (5) Finance, consists of income statement and balance sheet. Secondary data were gathered from current data available and reading material in internet and library. The firm is a sole proprietorship type of business registered under the name Sarmiento Rice Mill. Identification and problem analysis were carried out regarding the organization and production of the firm. The following are the problem encountered by the firm (1) in organization, lack of properly managing the firm and workers; (2) in marketing, innovation for the firm; (3) in production, lack of supplier of palay; and (4) in financial, the business doesn't handle its own palay processing. Alternative courses of action are formulated and evaluated to determine possible solutions to recommend for the given problems. Based on evaluation, the following are recommended to improve the operation and production of Sarmiento Rice Mill, for the identified problem in organization, hire a supervisor who can assist the manager in operating the business and overseeing the employees; also, inspire more employees/workers; for the identified problem in marketing, purchase an advance technology for rice milling; and revive the rice store; for the identified problem in production, use their own land to produce palay; for the identified problem in financial, update the structure for maximizing the place; and hire an accountant or Bookkeeper.
