ABSTRACT Lacson, Marco Angelo C., Manicdao, Reymart T., Ubera Jr., Marvin P., Department of Computer Studies and Automation - College of Engineering and Computer Studies, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. June 2023. "INTERNET OF THINGS (loT)-BASED URBAN FARMING OF DRAGON FRUIT USING ARDUINO". Adviser: Mr. Jomar S. Baricante This study entitled Internet of Things (loT)-based Urban Farming of Dragon Fruit Using Arduino aimed to design and develop a system that uses solar power technology, could control and automate the artificial lighting and irrigation of the Dragon Fruits and could monitor the moisture level of the soil. The system provides access using an android application for viewing the moisture level in real time. The researchers used questionnaires, internet research, and interviews to compile relevant data and information. Wemos D1- ESP8266 Based, Soil Moisture Sensor, Real Time Module, Relay Module, Solar Panel, Charge Controller, 12v Rechargeable Lead Battery, 12v DC Submersible Water Pump, 12v LED Bulb were the hardware components used to develop the system. MIT App Inventor was used to develop the application for online access of controls and monitoring of the soil moisture level. Photoshop is used for the editing and design in logo of the application. The researchers came to the conclusion that both urban farming enthusiasts and the farmers at Tamega Farm may profit from the established method. The study's post-evaluation revealed excellent findings; the study's overall grand mean in the post evaluation of the respondents was 3.66, the Hardware and Software Experts was 3.5, the Data Expert was 4, all were interpreted as strongly agree. The respondents concurred that the Internet of Things (loT)-based Urban Farming of Dragon Fruit Using Arduino was dependable, and advantageous, therefore the system is recommended to be adapted by urban farming enthusiasts and in the Tamega Farm.
