ABSTRACT JOHN NIKKO S. MIRANDA June 2022. ACTUAL EXPERIENCES IN COMMERCIAL SWINE PRODUCTION. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science. Pampanga State Agricultural University, PAC, Magalang, Pampanga. Adviser: RICARDO D. HERNANDEZ, M.S.A The farm practice was conducted at Boston Ridge Farm located at Sitio Mano Brgy. Anupul Bamban Tarlac from April 24 2019 to June 03 2019. The farm allowed the studenttrainee to conduct his 300-hour training as a requirement for their degree. The studenttrainee was able to develop his skills and knowledge in this field. He experienced and gained knowledge about the different practices in swine farming such as; heat detection, artificial insemination, assisting a pregnant sow, teeth clipping, tail docking, castration, proper administration of medicines and vaccines, and so on. The student-trainee was able to record and solve the actual performance of the farm such as; average litter size, mummified, average gestation period, average stillbirth, average weaning weight, average litter size at weaning, and so on. Based on the actual performance of the farm, it achieved a good grade when it comes to its reproductive performance. The tools and equipment that were used on the farm were also observed by the student-trainee.
