A farm practice on swine with the cooperating farm will expose the students to different activities in agricultural industries. This farm practices was conducted at Buenavista Farm Brgy, Buenavista Sta. Maria Bulacan from April 16 to May 20,2018.Buenavista Farm started its operation in February 1990. The owners, Dr. Zosimo De Leon and Dr. Luzvimin De Leon. Their first building was built in March 1991 and was used as a house to fattener pigs. Buenavista farm has 49 buildings and up to 1500 sows. There are 4 gestating buildings, 15 farrowing buildings, 12 weanling buildings, 17 fattener buildings and 1 boar building. In September 2009, the owners established the first branch of "Pinoy Meatchop" Meat shop, ninety-eight percent of the farm's production is now sold in the meat shop. In this manner, the student can gain the appropriate skills that will develop while inside the farm. The farm environment can provide an excellent opportunity to obtain the necessary skills and knowledge that he can use when he encounter a host of several situations of problem. The student-trainee will know how the steps on the production and management practices in hog farm. The student needs also to know the organizational structural of the farm, the different duties and responsibilities, learn vital skills in the area of animal feeding and nutrition, disease prevention, control and treatment, breeding and production, housing, sanitation and animal health.
