"GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF LETTUCE ON DIFFERENT GROWING MEDIA IN A VERTICAL AEROPONICS SYSTEM ", Adviser: ENGR. ALAN MORALES The study was conducted in the backyard of Balanditan's residency at San Isidro, Concepcion, Tarlac to evaluate the growth performance of lettuce on different growing medium in a vertical aeroponics system. It aimed to design and construct a vertical aeroponic system, determine the difference between lettuce that grows with different growing medium in a vertical aeroponic system in terms of height, width of the leaves and number of the leaves and determine the economic viability of the system. The study was conducted from July to September, 2020. The experimental area covered by the aeroponics system was 0.86m?. Three set-ups were fabricated and installed in the greenhouse at San Isidro, Concepcion, Tarlac. Based on the result of the study the following were concluded: the growth and good performance of lettuce and grand rapid variety is affected by the inert medium used. Using fsam as a growing medium is the best in terms of height of the leaves, numbers of the leaves aad width of the leaves. In terms number of leaves, 90 heads, there is no significant differences wz cach treatment. The systems were able to provide favorable condition to lettuce and it was aiso economically viable.
