General note ABSTRACT INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA UTILIZATION ON THE KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND PRACTICES ON FAST FASHION OF THE YOUTH MARIBEL GARCIA BANAL Pampanga State Agricultural University Magalang, Pampanga Bachelor of Science in Development Communication June 2023 Camille Rose Carl Mendoza Title Researcher School Degree Date Completed Adviser The general objective of this study is to determine the influence of social media utilization on the youth's knowledge, attitude, and practices on fast fashion. In order to attain this, 256 youths surveyed at Barangay Batasan Arayat, Pampanga using a quantitative research method. Findings revealed that most of the respondents are 18 years old. Most of them are females and have a family monthly income of below Php 20,000. The majority of the respondents were knowledgeable that social media advertisements about fast fashion attract consumers. The respondents also agreed that social media influencers influence consumers' fast fashion purchasing behavior. Respondents also always look for clothes that are inexpensive but high in quality. It was also concluded that most of the variables do not have significant relationships with each other. Hence, it is recommended for the general public to educate themselves of the current trends in sustainable consumption and implement strategies that can prevent the harmful effects of fast fashion.
