General note ABSTRACT BONDOC, JASON S., JULY 2022. ASSESSMENT OF FOREST TREES IN NEW GINTUNGPAKPAK ECO PARK LOCATED AT BALITI, ARAYAT PAMPANGA. Bachelor of Science in Forestry Major in Forest Resource Management. Pampanga State Agricultural University, PSAU, Magalang, Pampanga. Adviser: WINNIER. PATIU, R.F The study was conducted in June 2022 at New Gintung Pakpak Eco Park located at Baliti, Arayat Pampanga. to identify, assess, select, and locate good mother trees from the twelve (12) hectares mini forest. All forest trees from pole and veteran within the twelve (12) hcctares were evaluated. Forest trees witha standard diameter at breast height (30cm to 76cm) and a total height of 15 meters above were considered potential good mother trees. Each tree then was assessed by its phenotypic characteristics including stem straightness., stem forking, stemn circularity, and tree health, and is graded following the DAO 2010-11 criteria for selecting mother trees. The study identified and assessed a total of 396 forest trees. The 396 forest trees are composed of 183 mahogany, 56 ipil-Ipil, 39 kamagong, 38 yemane, 30 takip asin, 20 narra, 10 tangisang bayauak, 9 lanete, 4 caballero, 3 tibig, 2 hauili, 1 kusibeng and 1 raintree. The result revealed that there are 2 mahogany, 2 narra, 1 caballero, 1 yemane, 1 tangisang bayauak, 1 takip asin, 1 hauili and 1 lanete, assessed as good mother trees. The tallest tree recorded was a rain tree 35m, and the largest diameter was also a rain tree, having 123cm diameter at breast height. The overall rating of the 396 forest trees falls in the category of "fair", with a mean computed of 3.68, meaning most of the forest trees in New Gintung Pakpak Eco Park located at Baliti, Arayat, Pampanga have fair phenotypic characteristics, with one accorded bend stem, forking within the 6m length, with oblong shaped stem and are medium damaged trees.
