General note ABSTRACT OCAMPO, MICO LENARD N.., JULY 2022. GERMINATION AND INITIAL GROWTH OF PRICKLY NARRA (Plerocarpus indicus forma echinatus (Pers) Rojo) SEEDS TREATEDWITHVARIOUS METHODS. Bachelor of Science in Forestry Major in Forest Resource Management, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. PRE-GERMINATION TREATMENT Adviser: DARWINE. TOTAAN, PhD The study was conducted at the researcher's residence in Magalang, Pampanga from May 2022 to July 2022.It sought to determining the effects of pre-germination treatments and initial growth on Prickly Narra (Plerocarpus indicus var echinatus). A total of 750 secds were used. The experiment utilized Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five (5) treatments; namely, T1 - control, T2- one cycle wet & dry trcatment, 13-two cycle wet & dry trcatment, T4- tap water soak, and T5 - Alternate hot & cold-water soak. The treatments were replicated three times wherein fifty (50) seeds were uscd in every treatment. Based on the result of the study, the highest germination percentage obtained with an average 64.00 was observed in both TI (Control) and T5 (Alternate hot and cold-water soak). TS (alternate hot and cold-water soak) obtained the highest germination capacíty with an average of 68.00 while on the other hand, T2 (one cycle wet & dry treatment) with an of 39.33 obtaincd the lowest germination capacity average. The highest germinative energy was recorded in T1 (control) that has obtaincd an average of 28.00.T4 while (tap water soak) has obtaincd the highest energy period with an average 11.67, whereas T3 (two cycle wet & dry treatment) has obtained the lowest average of 3.67.
