General note ABSTRACT Title FACTORS INFLUENCING THE PSAU EMPLOYEES ATTITUDE AND PRACTICES TOWARDS SUPPORTING MEDICAL CROWDFUNDING IN SOCIAL MEDIA: AN ELABORATION-LIKELIHOOD PERSPECTIVE STUDY CIELO M. GUIAO Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang Pampanga Bachelor of Science in Development Communication May 2023 Renz Q. Garcia Rescarcher School Degree Date Completed Adviser The study generally aimed to determine the factors influencing the PSAU employees' attitude and practices towards supporting medical crowdfunding campaigns on social media. Quantitatíve research method was used in this study. The respondents of the study were 231 employees from Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. The study used the Frequency Distribution Table, mean, percentage, mode, and Pearson Chi-square test for statistical analysis. As to the findings, most of the respondents are 23 to 29 years old, and majority are males and college graduates. In terms of the factors that the respondents considered towards supporting medical crowdfunding campaigns on social media, ranking in first is the "illness or disease of the patient", ranking in second is the "relationship with the patient", and ranking in third is the "amount of medical treatment needed." While the least considered factors are "peer pressure", "philanthropic nature", and "personal benefits." With regards to the attitude of the respondents, it was seen that they view supporting social media medical crowdfunding campaigns positively. Also, it was determined that they sometimes support such campaigns. The findings also suggest that their socio-demographic profile and practices are not significantly related. However, it was observed that their attitude and the factors they considered have a significant relationship. Additionally, it was found that their positive attitude toward supporting medical crowdfunding campaigns is significantly related with their practices. Hence, these results support the Elaboration Likelihood Model's assumptions. Based on the findings, it is recommended to the medical crowdfunding organizers and other initiators of such campaigns to use the findings as reference in making their crowdfunding campaigns more persuasive. The results can be used to know what kind of information they need to include and highlight to encourage potential donors.
