General note | ABSTRACT TITLE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING ANALYSIS OF CALAMANSI FARMERS IN SELECTED MUNICIPALITIES IN PAMPANGA AUTHOR ADVISER SCHOOL JOHN DAVID F. SUNGA ALLIAH MAE C.SALAZAR : PAMPANGA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY DEGREE : BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS YEAR COMPLETED : JUNE 2023 This study was conducted to undertake the production of calamansi in eight selected municipalities in Pampanga. Specifically. The purpose of the study was to identify the respondents' socio-demographic characteristics, ascertain production practices, yield, and costs incurred by respondents, determine the marketing practices of calamansi farmers, conduct a financial analysis using cost and return analysis, identify the problems encountered by the respondents, and provide altermative solutions. The primary data were gathered through a survey questionnaire. The respondents were interviewed personally using a structured questionnaire. Secondary data were collected from available reading materials like encyclopedias, books, theses from the Pampanga State Agricultural University library, and information from the internet. The data were analyzed using frequency and percentage analysis. A survey of 20 Calamansi farmers was done. Age, educational level, civil status, source of income, and family size were used to categorize the calamansi farmers. The possible solution is that there must be a specific selling price set to prevent consumers from selling calamansi cheaper than its original price, especially from direct scller. This is because calamansi producers are not meeting their expected sales because of the direct cheap buying price. Policymakers should adopt a strategy enabling the calamansi farmers to benefit more such as trainings on how to practice more on the calamansi farming to produce more and by giving the farmers a budget for them to control and expand their calamansi business. This study ultimately can also benefit the economy when calamansi farmers produce more calamansi. |
