Cuttings As Affected by Different Rooting Hormones and Varying Types of Rooting Media under PSAU Condition, Bachelor of Science in Forestry major in Forest Resource Management. Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. Thesis Adviser: MR.ROY JOVEN R. AMATUS The propagation of Bago (GnetumgnemonL.) cuttings using different rooting mediums is often used together with synthetic or organic rooting hormones, which have been known to act as a catalyst for root growth while protecting the root cuttings from various types of ailments and fungi. The propagation of Bago(GnetumgnemonL.) cuttings under Pampanga State Agricultural University conditioned by the help of varying types of rooting Media and different rooting hormones was the aim of this study, specifically in terms of survivability rate and growth response among treatments. To reach the objectives of the study, the arrangement was laid out using the Randomized Complete Block Design; with twelve treatment combinations replicated three times. To achieve the required number of experimental plants with a total of one thousand eighty cuttings, it was collected in the Lubang Island province of Occidental Mindoro. _ Factor 1 is the group of rooting hormones composed of three different types of rooting enhancers: the Alpha Naphthalene Acetic Acid (ANAA), Indolebutyric Acid (IBA), and Hormex rooting enhancer. Factor 2 is composed of four varying types of rooting media: the equal ratio by volume of topsoil + river sand + coir dust, topsoil + coir dust, topsoil + river sand, and pure river sand. Statistical analysis showed that Alpha Naphthalene Acetic Acid, with the interaction of 1.1.1 ratio coir dust, topsoil, and river sand gives a better response, with the highest survival percentage and root growth; followed by Indolebuteric Acid with the interaction in an equal ratio of topsoil, river sand, and coir dust. Meanwhile, the treatment combination that has the lowest percentage of cuttings that survived, is the interaction between Hormex Rooting enhancer and pure river sand, followed by hormex with the interaction to an equal ratio of topsoil plus pure river sand.
