"Poultry Companion Application: Android-based Laborers' Performance Evaluation' Adviser: Erl Xander G. Labung, MSIT The researchers conducted a study about layer poultry farm laborers' performance toward management practices. The researchers observed a common problem with the monitoring process in poultry management, which is performed by poultry laborers. Cleaning operations, feeding, and water management are three of the particular poultry management practices. The main objective of the study was to develop a system that will help the poultry manager monitor the management practices. This includes evaluating the laborers' performance and providing access and updates to the pouitry owner regardless of the location. The poultry farm manager and owner were the respondents of this study. The researchers used Traditional Waterfall Methodology to develop the system. The first phase is the requirements, where the researchers gathered and analyzed information from the locale and the users. The second phase is the design. The researchers used a Data Flow Diagram to know the flow of the system, an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) to know the relationship of each table's entities, and a Context Diagram to know the boundary between each user. The third phase is the coding. The researchers developed the system based on the design from the design phase. whereas the fourth phase is the testing phase, in which the researchers make a survey of the respondents to know what things need improvement. The researchers identified the errors and bugs to be fixed as they used a descriptive method in the study. The researchers observed and interviewed poultry managers. This was to examine and determine the flow and output of the program. Furthermore, the researchers used Android Studio and Java to code the system. The researchers distributed questionnaires to 1 layer poultry farm owner, 1 poultry manager, and 3 IT experts to test the efficiency of the capabilities and functions of the system. The researchers collected valuable results from the observation and more from the post-survey conducted with the respondents. The poultry manager got a total mean of 3.5, while the poultry owner got a total mean of 4 and 2.93 for the IT experts. This indicates that the respondents strongly agree with the efficiency and functions of the poultry farm companion application and that it will be of great help to the local poultry industry. |
