Formatted contents note | The system entitled "DORMITORY RECORD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH OCCUPANT'S ATTENDANCE MONITORING USING FINGERPRINT SCANNER" was developed to create a system that will prevent misplacing student dormitory records. Specifically, this project was developed to improve the existing record management system of PSAU Dormitory Management with respect to: record management, fast transaction, attendance monitoring, report generation, and room reservation. The major objectives of the present project were to develop a system that will manage the records of the PSAU dormitory and its occupants, record and manage the attendance of the occupants using a fingerprint scanner, create a reservation system for the dormitory rooms, and validate the design and functionality of the application developed. Research instruments in the form of questionnaires, interview, and internet and library search were used in data gathering. Statistical procedures like using Slovin's formula and weighted mean were utilized to analyze and interpret the data collected. The researchers used Data Flow Diagram (DFD), System Flowchart and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) to know the logic of the program. The proposed system was developed using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap 5, jQuery as a Front-end and PHP, MYSQL, SQL for Server Side and VS Code for Text Editor. The attendance module, on one hand, -was developed using Java, Digital Personal SDK, fingerprint scanner, and Apache Netbeans as an IDE. Based on the result of the assessment questionnaires answered by the occupants and dorm manager, there was a significant difference between the manual process and checking of attendance and the present proposed system. Therefore, the developed system was found to be beneficial to the PSAU dormitory occupants and manager in terms of managing student dormitory records and monitoring occupants' attendance by using a fingerprint scanner. |
