Formatted contents note The study was conducted to determine the growth and survival of tamarind (Tamarindus indica Linn.) with different interstock such as Aglibut Sweet, PSAU Sour 2, Intaphalam Sweet, Golden Sweet, Cabanatuan 1, Cabanatuan 2, and Nueva Ecija 1 from November 2021 to February 2022 at Pampanga State Agricultural University, PAC, Magalang, Pampanga. The experiment was laid out following the Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications and data were analyzed through the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Tukey Honest Significant Difference (HSD) was used to determine the level of significance between treatment means. The result indicates that those grafted with PSAU Sour 2 had the most number of branches, which was followed by those grafted with the Aglibut Sweet variety. However, the lowest number of branches was found in those grafted with the Intaphalam Sweet variety. On the other hand, insignificant differences were recorded on the percentage graft survival, seedling height, length of rootstock, length of interstock, length of scion, diameter of rootstock, diameter of interstock, and diameter of scion. Although there was insignificant effect, after two (2) months of grafting, the highest rate of graft survival was found in those grafted with the Cabanatuan 1 variety, which was followed by Cabanatuan 2. In terms of height increment, those grafted with Nueva Ecija 1 had the shortest length increment, which was followed by Cabanatuan 2. In relation to the length increment of rootstock, those grafted with the Cabanatuan 1 variety obtained the shortest length increment and are comparable to Nueva Ecija 1, Intaphalam Sweet, and Aglibut Sweet varieties. In addition, the Cabanatuan 2 variety was noted to have the shortest length increment of intertstock, while Intaphalam Sweet variety gained the shortest length increment of scion. With regard to the diameter increment, statistical analysis indicates that those grafted with PSAU Sour 2 gained the lowest diameter increment of rootstock, which was closely followed by the Nueva Ecija 1 variety, while the Golden Sweet variety was observed to have the lowest diameter increment of interstock and scion.
