Formatted contents note The study was conducted from February to May 2022 at Barangay La Paz Magalang, Pampanga to generally determine the germination and growth performance of falcata seeds using various pre-treatment and soil media. One thousand eight hundred (1800) of falcata seeds were used. Treatment was arranged in Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with two (2) factors. Factor Amain treatment namely; A1topsoil, A2mixed topsoilsawdust, and A3mixed topsoilrice hull. Factor Bsub-treatment which are the pre-treatment, namely; B1no pretreatment (control), B2nicking (using nail clipper), B3hot water-treatment (5 seconds) (100°C) and B4soaking in tap water (12 hours). The treatments were replicated three times. Specifically, it aims to find significant results and answer the following: a. Germination Percentage b. Germination Capacity c. Germination Energy d. Energy Period e. Numbers of Leaves f. Stem Diameter g. Plant Height and h. Percent of Survival Interaction between Factor A and B were found insignificant in all germination parameters. The findings indicated that the A2B2mixed topsoil and sawdust and nicking using a nail clipper produced significantly higher germination percentage with a mean of 40.61%, Germinative Capacity, and Germinative energy. However, A1B1 (control) germinated the earliest (Energy period) among all treatments. The growth performance including plants' leaves, height and stem diameter were also found not significantly different in interaction between soil mixture and pre-treatments. In terms of number of leaves, A1B1 (topsoil and no pretreatment) were significantly higher among all treatments. In addition, A1B3 (Topsoil and hot water treatment) were found to have significantly higher mean in Plant height and diameter. The percentage of survival found insignificantly different with a mean of 95.22% in interaction between factor A and B. A1B1 and A3B1 had the highest percentage of 100.00% while A1B2 had the lowest of 88.41%.
