505 0# - FORMATTED CONTENTS NOTE
Formatted contents note This study aimed to determine the effects of ginger and oregano plant extracts in their natural form as a water supplement to assess the effects on the egg and laying production of Japanese Seattle quails. It was conducted from May 05, 2022 to June 19, 2022 in Purok 2, Telapayong, Arayat, Pampanga. The designation of the one hundred eighty birds into different treatments were made by a two-factorial experiment in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Factor A is the type of plant extract and Factor B is the amount of extract in water. There were six treatments with 30 birds each and replicated three times with 10 birds per replication. The treatments were as follows: A1B1plain water, A]B225 ml Ginger extract per 1L water, AlB350 ml Ginger extract per 1L water, A2BIplain water, A2B225 ml Oregano extract per IL water, and A2B350 ml Oregano extract per 1L water. The incorporation of ginger and oregano extracts on water intake of layer quails resulted in no significant interaction between Factor A and Factor B; no significant difference between treatments on Factor B; and no significant difference between treatments on Factor A in terms of egg production, egg weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, water consumption, and eggshell thickness. The layer quails with the highest gross income were given with 25ml oregano extract per 1 L water.
