Formatted contents note | Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic, one of the major ways implemented in order to combat COVID-19 in the Philippines was the strengthening of communitybased health and support systems such as Barangay Health Workers who sare trained for COVID-19 community response, including the essential behaviors to contam the spread of the virus, facilitate infection prevention and control, quarantine and isolation. But then, as the infection continue to spread, our community-based health workers tend to face difficulties in closely monitoring them as aside from the growing numbers, the need to closely monitor the patients intensifies the probability of contracting the infection during the process. This project was designed for barangay health workers with the primary objective of developing a user-friendly application software for monitoring COVID-19 home cared patients closely while greatly decreasing the probability of assigned health 'workers contracting the infection as they could monitor and assist the patients conveniently through the application software. The research methodology used in this study is the Muiti-Methodological Approach to Information System Research proposed by Nunamaker et al., which shows an integrated approach to !S research that is necessary to keep pace with technological innovation in order to collect necessary data. The methodology helped the researchers properly identify system requirements and establish objectives that could address the needs which have been specified and elaborated by directly invotved individuals. The project was developed using IDE, XML, JAVA and MySQL. A questionnaire has been distributed online to fifteen (15) COVID-19 home cared patients and three (3) barangay employees of Barangay Sta. Cruz to evaluate the application software performance. A cumulative score of the respondents and descriptive writing was used to interpret the data. Based on the results, most of the respondents evaluated the software application's performance as "Strongly Agree," gamering a score of 3.65 for home care patients and 3.67 for barangay health care workers, indicating that the system meets its required functionality and supports residents' needs. Therefore, the developed system was found to be beneficial for COVIO-19 home care patients and barangay health workers in terms of issuing barangay documents online. |
