Formatted contents note | The study aimed to determine the effects of varying levels of lemongrass and neem leaf extract. Specifically, it aimed to determine the following: average initial weight, average final weight, the average gain in weight, average daily gain (A.D.G.), average feed consumption, and average feed conversion ratio (F.C.R.). The study was conducted for 35 days, from May 06, 2022 to June 09, 2022, in Barangay Camias, Magalang, Pampanga. A total of one hundred eighty (180) heads of Cobb broilers were used in this study arranged in a 2x3 factorial experiment Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The birds were randomly divided into their respective block, and the blocking factor was their weight. The birds were divided into six (6) treatments and were replicated three times with ten (10) birds per treatment per block. The experiment had two (2) independent variables, which included Factor A, the types of extracts added to the | liter of water. These extracts were Al-lemongrass and A2-neem leaf extract. On the other hand, Factor B was the level of inclusion of the extracts: Bl-Control, B2100ML, and B3-200ML, respectively. Based on the results gathered, the treatment A1B2 recorded the highest gain in weight and had the best Feed Conversion Ratio (F.C.R.) among the other treatment. The group in A1B2 had an average gain of 1,116.23 grams and the lowest F.C.R. with an average of 1.97 to produce Ikg of meat. However, statistical analysis showed that the supplementation of lemongrass extract and neem leaf extract did not significantly affect all the parameters except Average Water Consumption. It can be concluded that birds supplemented with varying levels of lemongrass and neem leaf extract statistically had no significant effect on the growth performance of broilers. However, relevant to the study's primary goal, which was to determine the growth performance of cobb broiler chicken, the experiment revealed that at least 100ml of lemongrass added to Iliter of drinking water could help the broilers from growing to finishing. Therefore, based on the results, it is recommended to use lemongrass, and neem leaf extract to add to drinking water during the growing and finishing stage of the broilers. |
