Formatted contents note Leslie J, Liwanag. August 2021. GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF WHITE MULBERRY (Morus elba perr.) CUTTINGS USING DIFFERENT LEVELS OF MYCORRHIZA, Bachelor of Science in Forestry Major in Forest Resource Management. Pampanga State Agricultural University, Magalang, Pampanga. Adviser: ALLAIN JAMES T, AQUINO, RF Arbuscular mycorrhiza is the most common form of symbiotic association between a fungus and the roots of a vascular plant. Meanwhile, white mulberry (Morus alba) is a moderately fast growing, deciduous shrub or tree growing 20 - 35 meters tall. It has a cylindrical, straight bole up to 50cm in diameter and free of buttresses. The tree has a wide range of uses, being valued especially for its edible fruit and medicinal uses. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of use of mycorrhiza under different treatments applied to Morus alba cutting. The general objective of this study was to assess the growth performance of White Mulberry (Morus alba) cutting with the use of different levels of Mycorrhiza. Specifically, this study aimed to find answers to the following questions: In a span of sixty (60) days, how may the controlled and experimental group will be described in terms of: number of leaves; number of shoots; length of longest shoot; shoot diameter; survival rate; root length; root-shoot biomass. The study was conducted in an established backyard nursery with an estimated size of 300 m? at Jocson Farm San Pablo, Magalang, Pampanga. The experimental site has a flat surface with permanent and reliable water source supply as well as is not prone to flooding. Treatments were arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Thirty (30) sample plants per treatment replicated three times for a total 540 Morus alba cuttings. Six (6) treatments; TO ~ No fertilizer (control group); Tl - 5 g of Mycorrhiza; T2 - 7.5 g of Mychorizza; T3 - 10 g of Mychorizza; T4 12.5 g of Mychorizza; T5 - 15 g of Mychorizza. The treatments were replicated three times. The following conclusion were drawn: Root-shoot biomass, number of leaves on 15® and 60 day after fertilizer application, initial day on number of shoots, initial and 60° day on shoot qdiameter showed no significant difference between the six mycorrhizal treatments; survival rate, 5® day on number of leaves after mycorrhizal application, 15 day on number of shoots after ycorrhizal application, 15 and 30 days on length of longest shoot after fertilizer application, mean aried significantly among the six mycorrhizal treatments; The six treatments that were used isclosed high significance on the initial and 30" day of number of leaves, 30" to 60" day on umber of shoots, length of longest shoot's initial, 45" and 60" day, shoot diameter's 15" to 60 y after fertilizer application, and root length as their computed mean varies far from each other; erall mean of number of leaves per treatment shows that the fourth treatment obtained the highest result. While number of shoots overall mean concluded that treatment 4 and 5 attained the highest mean. In terms on the length of longest shoot treatment 5 obtained the highest. Shoot diameter's overall mean reflected that the 5" treatment has the highest mean. Fifth treatment was also the one who got the highest average in terms on root length. Survival rate and root-shoot biomass attained highest mean was the fourth treatment. Based on the results of the study the following recommendations were drawn: 12.5 g of mycorrhiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mulberry in terms on number of leaves; 12.5 g and 15 g of mycorrhiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mulberry in terms on number of shoots.; 15 g of mycorrhiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mulberry in terms on the length of the longest shoot.; 15 g of mycorthiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mulberry in terms on shoot diameter.; 12.5 g of mycorrhiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mulberry in terms on survival rate.; 15 g of mycorthiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mutberry in terms on its root length.; 12.5 g of mycorrhiza is the recommended amount of fertilizer to use in planting white mulberry in terms on root shoot biomass.
