Formatted contents note The study was conducted to assess the effects of ASF in the production and marketing of commercial farms in Magalang, Pampanga. The respondents of the study were the commercial swine growers who raise fatteners in their farms Using Slovin's formula, a total of 15 commercial grower-respondents was obtained Initially, 16 commercial swine growers were supposed sample size of the study, however, the researcher cannot further find 1 grower-respondent for the survey because the remaining 10 commercial swine growers listed in the Municipal Agriculture Office stopped operating due to the emergence of ASF. The objectives were to determine the volume of production, monthly quantity traded and the selling prices of swine fatteners before and during the occurrence of ASF; evaluate the statistical significance of changes in volume produced, quantity traded and selling prices of swine fatteners before and during the emergence of ASF; analyze the cost and return analysis of the fatteners pig production before and during ASF; and identify the problems encountered in the farm and the possible solutions suggested by the swine growers specifically the pig fatteners in Magalang, Pampanga. To attain the different objectives of the study, the researcher conducted interview to all of her respondents. The researcher collected the following information: Socio-demographic of the respondents, Breeds of swine and purpose of faising, management practices in the farms, method of transferring of swine in the market, mode of payment used by the farms, who dictates the prices, volume produced, quantity sold per month, weight and selling prices of swine before and during ASF. Cost and return before and during ASF was analyzed. Results of the study showed that with a 15% margin of error, the confidence interval of the result is 85%. The t-test shown that there is a significant change with every variable. There is a significant change in the volume produced, quantity sold, selling prices, gross income, and net income before and after the occurrence of ASF. Production decreased as a result of the ASF, and some pig farms stopped operating out of concern about major losses. People stopped buying pork meat because they were afraid, which also decreased sales. Swine growers came up to idea of lowering the prices of the pigs, lowering the prices has an effect to the income of the swine farms.
